Gaelic Medium Education in Islay is centred around the Gaelic stream at Bowmore Primary School. This includes a pre-school (sgoil-araich) class followed by Gaelic immersion classes rom P1 to P7.
Additional opportunities for children taught through Gaelic and their parents are available at the Rionnagan Beaga croileagan (parent and toddler group) and through Comann nam Pàrant. Rionnagan Beaga is on a Wednesday 1pm-3pm at Ionad Chaluim Chille Ìle, and is open to all (accompanied) pre-school children.
Children can continue to study Gaelic at Islay High School.
